Summer Reading Guide
From the nonprofit literacy organization Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), this compilation of summer reading resources includes suggestions for family activities (such as a "book-nic"), summer reading tips, and reading lists for children. The "Travel Reads" list features books with settings in many U.S. states and some international locations.

A Continuing Study of American Youth
This website constitutes "an ongoing study of the behaviors, attitudes, and values of American secondary school students, college students, and young adults." In addition to background about the study, the site contains survey results and related publications, most focusing on drug use and trends. Conducted at the Survey Research Center in the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan, and funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Institutes of Health.

Outside contributors create the opinionated but useful text of this travel site. Editors screen for grammar and spelling and try to weed out fraudulent postings but, overall, prospective vacationers get a candid view of destinations worldwide.
