St. Joseph Road - What are your thoughts?

A student thought that we should have something on the blog about possible changes to the College of St. Benedict community. In a 1992 amendment to the city's 1975 annexation agreement with St. Joseph Township it was stated that the long range goal would be to build a road that would go through through the monastery property.

It is felt that the road would not only relieve traffic from Minnesota Street, but would bring southern residents north to land along Interstate Highway 94 — zoned commercial by the township, and possibly the future home of offices, restaurants or retail stores.

The November 1st, 2005 article entitled, "St. Joseph road records cook up lots of questions" can be found at St. Cloud Times web site. It contains a letter from the Sisters of St. Benedict, as well as a map depicting where the possible road would go.

Other included links are Page 1 and Page 2 of the annexation agreement.

Your school paper ,the Record, has written articles concerning this matter also.

Please voice your opionion either on the blog, the St. Cloud Times or the Record. Your voice could make a difference!
